Have Yourself a Preppy Little Flashback

Take Ivy, a 1965 photography book capturing fashion on Ivy League campuses, set the world on fire for prep style
Whether you actually attended a snooty preparatory school, or simply spent your days swathed in head-to-toe Polo, skip through this “Old School 101″ list from Paper City for a fun blast of remember-when.
And then brace yourself, because prep is coming back with a vengeance.
The New York Times just took a look at the comeback, and determined that prep is resurging in advance of the releases of two prep bibles: “True Prep” (sequel to The Official Preppy Handbook, no less)… and the long-awaited re-release of “Take Ivy“, a glorious photo record of students on Ivy League campuses in the 1960’s, which set prep style on fire world-wide.
The teens can tell you that Sperry Topsiders have been back with a vengeance for a couple summers now. (Boat people will tell you they never went out.)
Look for pearls, plaids, lace-up oxford shoes, suspenders, monograms and other prep staples to populate fall ready-to-wear.

And then, bring me another Bloody, Muffy… the yacht club mixer went on into the wee hours and my Wayfarers aren’t helping this hangover.
Cheers, darling.
