Weekend Update
If you have a beloved pup, you should know about this a-DOR-able event happening in Uptown on Thursday: “A Wüf Wedding in Lee Park” is a fundraiser for Paws in the City and the Lee Park Canine Conservancy. The second annual “Wüf Wedding” is a dog wedding that celebrates “puppy love” and offers dog owners a unique opportunity to bond with their canine companion. Dogs will have the opportunity to join in holy muttrimony with other dogs and exchange biscuits as a sign of their affection. The event will be complete with an officiating Minister of Muttrimony, a ceremony, a walk down the aisle, a reception, DJ, and wedding cake for all.
No, we can’t make this stuff up! (And… okay, okay… so Uptown isn’t North Dallas, but “Minister of Muttrimony!” We couldn’t resist.)
Rather stay closer to home on a school night? Head over to City Hall tonight to help celebrate the state championship win of the Wakeland High School varsity boys soccer team. There will be a pep rally and mini-parade, followed by FISD Community Night at Pizza Hut Park. WOLVERINES!
For the weekend, whether you’re a Parrothead heading for Pizza Hut Park on Saturday or not, you should be aware that almost 30,000 people will be descending on Frisco this weekend for the Jimmy Buffett concert.Be aware of extra traffic in and out of the DNT/Main intersection, especially in the afternoon and evening on Saturday, and use alternate routes if possible.
If you’d prefer to be nowhere near the Pizza Hut Park traffic this weekend, consider Taste Addison taking place in Addison Circle Park. The festival features food from over 60 area restaurants, carnival and midway for the kids, and musical headliner Train appearing on Saturday. Get the details here.
(You know you want to hear Soul Sister live, admit it.)
