Do you have an artistic kiddo who wants to help conserve water? Have him or her enter the WaterWise poster contest! The deadline for submissions is Thursday, May 6, so get to drawing.
Remember when Frisco City Councilman Pat Fallon challenged himself to lose 40 pounds, or else he would give $25,000 to Frisco Family Services?
Well, the weigh-in was last night, and Pat did it, with ounces to spare. (Warning: there is a half-naked city councilman in that link!)
While it’s wonderful that Mr. Fallon got healthier these last few months, our favorite part is that he gave the $25,000 to Frisco Family Services anyway… and even raised another $7,500 along the way as others made “side bets” on his weight loss. What a great way to help the community and raise awareness about FFSC!
Finally, Mayor Maso reports on his blog that visitors to Frisco Square this weekend should plan their route around 102.1’s Edgefest, taking place at Pizza Hut Park on Saturday. Roads around the park will be closed from about 10 pm – midnight on Saturday, so that concert traffic can be diverted easily out of the area, minimizing delays and jams.
Check out the Pizza Hut Park exit route map here… this is good reference for any event taking place at Main and DNT.
So, keep Edgefest in mind if you are headed down to eat at Mattito’s, Lochrann’s, Sake Toro, Love Peace Popcorn, Dimples, Best Thai, Main Street Burger or any of the other fab restos in the area.
