What’s Abuzz

Is Dallas ready for this West Coast burger icon? We say yes!

Is Dallas ready for this West Coast burger icon? We say yes!

This is just such a happenin’ place that sometimes, we have to cram a bunch of stuff into one day to keep you Savvy! So here’s a roundup of what you need to know in the CoCo and the DeCo.

In-N-Out Burger is coming to town.*
Whether you’re a California kid or a burger fanatic, this is headlining news. The Advocate’s Lake Highlands blog has all the scoop.

Now, we include that asterisk because technically, the In-N-Out move is not official, and hasn’t been officially announced by the company, etc.

But, they do have six DFW area properties under contract, and you don’t do that if you’re still just nosing around. So, get ready to wrap your mug around a Double-Double, and only pay a little little.

Mi Chula’s es muy bueno.
In the last couple weeks, we’ve heard from four different Savvy readers that this new Mexican resto is really tasty. The first Mi Chula’s opened in Southlake and was so popular that they brought a second location our way, on Preston just south of 121. Grilled shrimp? Prickly pear margaritas? Me gusta! Put it on your list to check out soon.

Short shorts and hot pants are back. We are not all ready for this!

Short shorts and hot pants are back. We are not all ready for this!

Short shorts are hot hot.
For you girls with good gams, all the top shops and mags say that dressy hot pants are back this summer.

This look is not for everyone, and we are sure that you Savvy readers know whether you can pull it off or not. Great, well-groomed legs are a must, and of course you must balance the skimpy bottom with a full-coverage top. Check this article on tips for how to do the short shorts look without getting yourself picked up for solicitation.

Citizenship!
Yes, doing your civic duty is super-chic this week, as Frisco polls are open for early voting in the municipal elections. Frisco residents need to vote on two city council positions and a slew of amendments to the city charter. Get polling info here, including a list of candidates and the charter amendments to consider.

Savvy citizens always early-vote, since you can cast your vote at any of the polling places, whereas on Election Day (Saturday, May 8th) you are required to vote at your local precinct.

Now you know what’s In, and we’re Out of here!
