Xanadu the Musical has skated into Fair Park

Xanadu the Musical has skated into Fair Park

If you have been wondering why your life seems to be dull and lifeless, and you’ve been thinking that you really need a shot of disco balls, winged horses, roller skating and Greek gods (because really, who doesn’t?), wonder no more.

Xanadu the Musical has skated into town at Fair Park, presented by Dallas Summer Musicals. It runs from April 6 – 18. Frisco Savvy checked it out on opening night, and it was two hoots and a holler.

This 90-minute show has no intermission, but features all the hits that Olivia Newton-John and Electric Light Orchestra made famous in 1980, including “Xanadu,” “Magic”, “All Over the World”, and “Suddenly.” Xanadu is fun and funny, and has enough glitz and effect for even younger patrons (who mightn’t really care about all the love story business).

This is confectionary, joyous fun on stage and Anika Larsen does a fine job at making you forget all about the Aussie who made famous the role of Kira the Muse.

If you need a reminder of all that was fabulously far out about that time when the 70’s became the 80’s, you’ll find it somewhere between Venice Beach and Mount Olympus, or just a hop down the Tollway at Fair Park.

You have to believe!
