Weather Alert! SnOMG!
Now, you know why we’re telling you this, right?
Not so you can run to the store and stock up on bread and water. Pshaw! Savvy citizens have enough cocktail mixers and cheese straws on hand to see them through a blizzard anyway.
But if there are any road problems at all in the next couple of days, Valentine’s Day floral deliveries are going to get backed up.
Here’s the deal: most florists are delivering on Friday and Saturday for V-Day (which is Sunday). And this is their biggest holiday of the year (next to Mother’s Day), so they will have extra drivers… but still, if any time is lost on Thursday, they will also have to make up regular hospital/birthday/funeral deliveries on Friday and Saturday as well.
The short version? If you are planning to order flowers for Valentine’s Day delivery and haven’t done so yet, you better pick up the phone rightthissecond and get your order in. Once the florists start to get backed up, they will stop taking orders, and then your honey will be out of luck.
And that’s the real apocalypse.
