New Home Alarm Law Takes Effect

Frisco PD wants to reduce false alarms

Frisco PD wants to reduce false alarms

Do you have a security alarm system on your house or place of work in Frisco? Download this press release from Frisco Police Department (PDF) or read it online.

A new ordinance was passed by the City Council last fall in the hopes of eliminating the +$1 million that was expended last year in police responding to false alarms. FPD will charge additional fees if your alarm goes off X number of times in a year over the limit.

The ordinance goes into effect on March 1, so read up on the details to make sure you are compliant, and contact the Records Division if you need more information.
