Nuevo Laredo

My favorite dish at Cantina Laredo: a poblano pepper stuffed with shrimp and cheese, wrapped in a tender carne asada.
First, they expanded into the space to the south (formerly Farpointe Wine Cellars), and created a fabulous venue for private events. It seats over 120, and has a full separate bar. When we were there last weekend, they were hosting a lovely rehearsal dinner.
Cantina Laredo is great for groups, but the lack of fully separate event space has always been kind of a drawback. You could get the gang together for dinner, but forget about making presentations, or having a speaker, or controlling the flow of traffic. Now, you can call them for club meetings, networking events, social events, birthday parties, and all sorts of fun stuff.
Several menu items are also nuevo, including a honey shrimp salad, a cilantro chicken salad, and avocado enchiladas. Me gusta!
And, we also spotted a prix fixe three-course dinner for around $30—that’s a great deal for some authentic and delish Mexican cuisine.
So, stop by Cantina Laredo, and check out what’s new. And in return, I promise to stop randomly sprinkling Spanish words throughout our entries.
