Mix Sophisticate
…you would say, “Well, duh, we’re already reading you, Frisco Savvy!“
We know! But no! It’s not us!
It’s Modmix Beverages, and they make divine cocktail mixers—and you must step away from the computer and run (do not walk) to obtain some. They are definitely carried at Costco in Plano; check the website for other retailers.
The Modmix flavors are citrus margarita, french martini, lavender lemon drop, mojito, pomegranate cosmopolitan, and wasabi bloody mary. I have tried the margarita, the lavender lemon drop, the pom cosmo and the wasabi bloody mary. (I have the roughest job in the whole world, seriously).
Let me just say that the lavender lemon drop was so good that I have not stopped thinking about it. If you’ve ever had cocktails with me, you know that I do not care for super-sweet bevvies; I like a bit of a citrus twist, or an aromatic or herbal element like bitters, ginger, basil, rosemary… something to wake up the olfactory senses and make the whole drink dazzling. The lavender lemon drop? It dazzles.
Now, the Modmix mixers are non-alcoholic, so you can serve them with club soda if you like. What a civilized alternative for those at your party who aren’t partaking of spirits—especially the moms-to-be who want to be part of the fun.
But, let’s not kid around—where these mixers shine is when mixed. As the only USDA-certified-organic brand of cocktail mixer, wouldn’t these be brilliant with 360 Eco-Friendly Vodka? (You know, if you drank enough cocktails made with 360 + Modmix, I’m pretty sure you’d be saving the polar bears. Let us begin right away! The earth needs us!)
And, here’s my fave: try these with Champagne. The lavender lemon drop, the pomegranate cosmopolitan… with a bit of sparkle and fizz, you have now got an utterly posh holiday cocktail that will knock the stockings off your guests. Or a brunch punch that will have them staying till dinner.
What say you, Savvy readers? Is our third signature cocktail on the horizon?
Clearly, a tasting party is in order.
