Partner Profile: TruFire

TruFire is a Frisco gem

TruFire is a Frisco gem

North Dallas is lucky to have a restaurant of the caliber of TruFire Kitchen & Grill, right here and locally owned. If you haven’t yet been to this “casual fine dining” spot, you owe it to yourself to head over there ASAP.

TruFire describes their menu as a blend of Italian comfort, creative Mediterranean, and American inspiration. This translates into pizzas, pastas, salads and hearty sandwiches. The flavor profiles are decidedly Italian, with basil, parmesan, olive oil, and caramelized onions making frequent appearances.

The menu isn’t deep, but every item is a standout. For starters, the hummus plate, the mussels, and the sweet potato fries are especially craveworthy. The wood-fired pizzas are perfect, with light crispy crusts and fresh tasty toppings. The Latin Fire pizza is especially creative: avocado, Diablo sauce, caramelized onion, three cheeses, chopped steak, and roasted jalapeno cilantro cream— very yummy!

Another area where TruFire stands out is in the bar. The wine lists are put together thoughtfully, with varietals organized by price point and a good selection by the glass. But if you like to go straight for the hard stuff, meet your new home away from home. TruFire’s cocktails are exceptional, chef-quality with fresh fruits, custom syrups, and clever recipes.

Some examples to tease your palate:
The Black Splash is fresh strawberries muddled with lemon, balsamic vinegar, lblack pepper and vodka. The Apple Jack is Jack Daniel’s Whiskey, fresh lemon sour, Fuji apple and ginger vanilla syrup. The Gin’s Up is Hendricks’s Gin with fresh orange, cucumber and lime juice. And we can’t say enough good things about the Savvy Fix, a refreshment of orange and ginger-vanilla made with 360 Vodka. Who’s ready for a cocktail?

And TruFire makes good classics too: their martinis, margaritas and sangria are all top-notch, with a bar staff to match.

But despite having a cocktail menu worthy of a Knox-Henderson address, TruFire doesn’t get too “scene-y” that it’s a hassle. You could bring your family in or come for a business lunch or casual dinner at any time. (Although, picky kids will have to punt with a cheese pizza or plain pasta, as there aren’t many options a la chicken fingers and fries)

TruFire is a more stylish version of your favorite neighborhood bistro. You can go in and sit at the bar and have great snacks and bevvies while you chat with Cory and Nola; you can sit out on the patio near the fireplace and drink wine under the stars. You can have a big table for 12 near the open kitchen, and visit with family and frends. You can bring a party into the private room for a club meeting over dinner.

Whatever your mood for food or drink, TruFire can meet your needs, in a convenient location at Shops at Starwood. And of course, as the venue for our first Savvy Night Out, and the caterer for our Launch Party, we obviously put our money where our mouth is when it comes to recommending it.

Frisco Savvy is so grateful to David, Omar, Nola, Cory, Jared and the whole team at TruFire who always take such great care of us. It is a pleasure to recommend and share them with Savvy readers.

…that the food, drinks, service and environment at TruFire are so amazing is just bonus!
