Eat, Drink and Be Scary

Eat, Drink and Be Scary!

Eat, Drink and Be Scary!

(Yes, this is a post about a Dallas event, but it benefits a great charity in Collin County, so that’s Savvy! Plus, we focus on North Texas but our #1 goal is to bring you what’s marvelous, regardless of address.)

Eat, Drink and be Scary is a costume party happening on Thursday, October 29. It is a benefit event coordinated by several Dallas-area event professionals, including party planners, venues, DJs and photographers— since the experts are involved, you know it will be fantastic.

Your ticket gets you admission, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and games and fun. There are prizes to win too… but of course since your ticket benefits charity, you’ve already won, n’est-ce pas?

If you don’t know the party beneficiary, Heroes For Children, let us introduce you: founded here in 2004, they provide support to families who are fighting pediatric cancer in Texas. This is about more than just paying for care… it’s about all the other expenses that insurance doesn’t cover that we wouldn’t think about: a gift card for gas so you can drive back and forth to the hospital each day… supplies for a birthday party so your family can celebrate even at the hospital… a laptop for a teen who is too sick to attend school but wants to stay connected to her friends… funeral expenses, when your kiddo’s fight has ended but you owe every last penny in medical bills.

This is truly a great organization, helping some families who are in need in a way that most of us can’t imagine. Even if you can’t go to the party, we encourage you to learn more about Heroes For Children, and to give time or resources if you are able.

And if you make it out to Eat, Drink and Be Scary, be sure to send us a field report!
